The essence of glaucoma is, the so called, glaucomatous neuropathy, or specific damage to the optic nerve caused most often by too high intraocular pressure. The damage involves loss of retinal nerve fibers forming the optic nerve, resulting in a characteristic loss of vision field, usually unnoticed by the patient. In some cases, the symptoms of glaucoma involve ocular pain, but generally the disease has a painless course.

Glaucoma treatment consists mainly of normalization (reduction) of intraocular pressure by means of relevant drugs, or by surgery, if the latter turn out to be ineffective.

DCR Laser Clinic offers two types of antiglaucoma laser treatment: transcleral cyclophotocoagulation  (TSCPC) and endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP) associated with cataract surgery.
